submerged life form

Alone. Christmas morning. Sat down with Tombow N15 pen in hand and went at it. This drawing moved automatically and flowed insanely fast--just under 2 hours. Lunch. Then biked the Campus trails. Tried laughing through "Hamlet 2"--lame movie. Want to draw again... but burned out.

mindset

Checked some Internet sketch sites, walked around town, then felt the urge to mix up a 2B pencil, a thrashed Bic pen (found it on the sidewalk), a Tombow 856 (needed a jolt of red ink today), and a Tombow N15. Filled in the background with a newly-sharpened 4H pencil. Jumped in and out of these drawings today... had freelance work to do.

irreparable damage

This old Tombow is finally running out of ink. It sucks because the pen nib is at it's best--this one lasted a long time! Time to roll the dimes and head to town for pen replenishment. Moved fast today... violence in the world news has been piling up in my mind. But this sketch was automatic... no conscious thought about composition, just drew for about a half hour, then walked away for awhile. Came back and tripped out looking at my sketch: "Where did that come from?" Almost don't remember doing it. Added some background lines with a Penstix EF.

N15 Self Portrait

Sometimes the automatic randomness of inking just blows me away! 2.5 hours of pure, non-stop, high-energy drawing rush. Finally had a sugar drop and had to gulp a bag of Doritos and juice. Came back to it... but nothing else to draw... it's done!
